Even if these have a Jumpman on the tongue tag instead of Nike Air, the 2009 Air Jordan 1 Shadow is still a classic! Back in the day I would cop a lot more Jordans, and at the time, these were kind of slept on.
These are a retro of an OG colorway and get their nickname from the shade of grey used. A newer retro dropped a couple of years after these with Nike Air branding on the tongue and it seems like everybody got a pair (except me). Regardless, the quality of this shoe makes this version popular among collectors.
Black and grey kicks look good with a number of combinations. Light denim and a grey or white tee works. So does black pants with a black or grey top. Feel free to add a splash of red, blue or white to your outfit to break things up a bit!
Overall I’d recommend these to anyone that wanted a pair of Jordan 1s that not everybody has.
How Are The Materials?
The materials are really good for a pair of Air Jordan 1s. Nice textured tumbled black leather and grey tumbled suede cover the shoe. These materials are pliable, soft and let the whole world know they are quality. The “remastered” program wouldn’t come out until a few years later, making these even more of a gem!
How Do They Fit?
The 2009 Air Jordan 1 Shadow fit a bit snug and can be slightly uncomfortable at first. This is not a surprise for anyone that owns a pair of Air Jordan 1s. They are not known for their initial comfort, but can break in to be very comfortable.
These have pliable enough materials that they ultimately become fairly comfortable after a few wears. The cut on these is a little different than the OG but still looks great on foot.
