I remember scratch n sniff stickers back in the day, and now there are a pack of kicks out there paying homage! The Asics Gel Saga Scratch n Sniff Goblin Blue is but one of the pairs in said pack, with the other two being a pair of Gel-LYTE IIIs and Gel-LYTE Speeds.
These apparently take after the “blueberry” flavor/scent – although the shoes themselves don’t have any scratch-n-sniff elements beyond the colorway.
These are kind of tough to match up. You could go with a medium wash jean that kind of matches the blue, and pull a grey top from there. A bit better of a look though is to go with some black pants, same grey top. That gives 2 different looks depending on what you’re going for.
These are definitely a good look and a nice shoe that is easy to wear casually all day long! The surprisingly good materials and interesting colorway put these over the top!
How Are The Materials?
The materials on these are a lot better than the last pair of Sagas I reviewed, with nice, soft suede uppers. There are also leather hits on the Asics stripes on the side, but the main reason I bought these was for the suede. While not Made-In-America New Balance lush, the material is fairly buttery for a pair of GR Sagas.
How Do They Fit?
The Asics Gel Saga Scratch n Sniff Goblin Blue fit true to size. These are really comfortable as per most Gel Sagas and have a lightweight feel despite the thicker suede uppers. I sold my true size pair and later bought a pair a half size down, and I think I like the fit even better! It definitely shows off the shape a lot better at that sizing and still very comfy.
