Air Jordan 6 Carmine Review

Updated January 31, 2016 by Anthony

Unlike the Maroon VI, this Air Jordan 6 Carmine retro from 2014 was not done using the “remastered” materials.

Still, they are an OG colorway and were highly sought after upon their re-release. I missed out on the CDP (countdown pack) version, and I had to scramble to even get this pair. I was stuck going a half size up just to grab a pair at retail, which at this point was still under $200. The shoe gets its nickname from the colorway.

The materials on these pass mustard, but are not that great overall. The nubuck/suede areas in red are a little rough and almost have that felt feel to them that only the crappiest of Nike suedes have. The leather is a little better but it’s merely acceptable, nothing mind-blowing and definitely no buttery texture. All in all the strength of this shoe is it’s history and colorway rather than the materials.

The Air Jordan 6 Carmine fit slightly large, even taking into account that I’m wearing a half size up. My feet are definitely swimming in these, and thick socks are really the only solution at this point that doesn’t involve buying/selling/trading for another pair. These are definitely comfortable though. I’ve always found 6s to be a fairly comfortable shoe to wear casually.
