The Puma Suede Made In Italy Opal Blue is part of a special Made in Italy capsule that applies elevated craftsmanship to some of Puma’s most iconic silhouettes. While I’ve covered Puma Suede history plenty of times on the site, this release stands out by focusing less on added features and more on premium execution.
The Puma Suede itself is a timeless model, and this Made in Italy version doesn’t try to reinvent it. Instead, it delivers a familiar, clean Suede profile while leaning heavily into material quality and craftsmanship. There aren’t any extra design flourishes here; this pair is all about letting the materials and construction do the talking.
I really loved this Opale Blue colorway and was curious to see how the Made in Italy quality compared to other premium Puma releases, especially being of Italian descent myself. These absolutely delivered, and at the $65 shipped price I paid, they felt like a steal. A classic Puma Suede with upgraded materials, made in the motherland, is hard to beat.
These come in a black Puma select box and include sets of white and blue laces.
Materials
Premium suede makes up most of the upper, paired with a buttery soft leather on the formstrip, tongue, and ankle liner. The craftsmanship here is excellent and genuinely elevated, putting these right up there with Puma’s Made in Japan releases in terms of overall quality. At or below retail, these represent a great value for a luxury-leaning take on a classic silhouette.
Fit & Comfort
These fit true to size with the familiar Puma Suede shape. The sleeker, slightly thinner upper gives them a roomier feel on foot despite the slim profile. Underfoot comfort is minimal by modern standards—mostly coming from the insole, with a simple rubber outsole beneath—but they’re perfectly fine for casual, low-activity wear. Clunky compared to newer models, sure, but still comfortable in that old-school way.
If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
