The New Balance 993 Pink Taffy released as part of a small two-pair pack (alongside a blue/black version), bringing a vibrant twist to a model that usually leans neutral. As with all 99X entries, this pair is made in the USA and keeps the signature USA heel embroidery that’s characteristic of the 993.
The New Balance 993 originally dropped in 2008 as the successor to the 992, merging elements from both the 991 and 992 into a lighter, more streamlined design. Over time it’s become a staple among NB fans thanks to its durability, comfort, and everyday versatility.
It’s been a while since I owned a pair, but with the model back in style and new colorways popping up, this vibrant Pink Taffy version immediately caught my eye – especially when I scooped them for around $130 shipped during Lapstone & Hammer’s Black Friday sale.
They arrive in the standard Made in USA light-grey box, laced with black laces and an extra set of white laces.
Materials
As expected from the Made in USA line, the materials here are *chef’s kiss*. The suede quality is excellent, the construction is clean, and everything feels premium in-hand. At full retail it’s solid, but at a sale price this is an incredible value.
Fit & Comfort
The 993 fits generously at true to size and delivers great comfort. Abzorb and Acteva cushioning work together to provide a smooth, supportive ride. Many consider the 993 the most comfortable NB model, and I’d say it still ranks near the top for all-day wear.
If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
