The Nike Dunk Low Panda-Monium Viotech continues Nike’s strategy of refreshing the Panda Dunk idea with bold new colorways and textures. In fact, Nike has released and continues to release pairs in the Panda-Monium “pack”.
While the original black-and-white “Panda” Dunks have become familiar and widely worn, Nike’s take here introduces a fresh twist. The back of the tongue features a panda graphic with Est. 1985 below.
What grabbed me about this pair from the start was how the “Panda” concept was clearly still running, but with new energy. The flashy Viotech purple and greyish tones help them stand out, while the suede texture adds depth. I grabbed mine off Darkside Initiative, and the retail price seems perfectly reasonable for what we’re getting. No collab markup, just a clean GR Dunk with upgraded design and materials. While the release wasn’t over-publicized, the colorway and build make these feel special, despite being a general release.
These come in a black and white box, furthering the Panda theme. Nike designed it so you can tear off part of the lid and use it as a small holder for things like pens, plants, or even to display the fuzzy panda hangtag that comes with the shoes. They also include a sticker sheet with Panda stickers on it. Rounding it out, you get two sets of laces in grey and purple to complement the upper and finish off the playful presentation.
Materials
The upper is built with hairy suede overlays. The suede here feels good in hand and stands out compared to many recent dunk GRs that used thinner or lower-quality materials. It’s not luxury level, but for a retail GR it hits above expectation and gives you something that looks and wears better than usual.
Fit & Comfort
Fit is true to size if you stick with your normal Dunk Low size. I found the fit to feel similar to other Dunks overall although the suede upper adds some additional give and a fast break in. Comfort isn’t game-changing—they’re still a retro Dunk after all—but they’re totally good for casual wear or walking around in.
If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
