I haven’t reviewed a pair of 9s in a long time! I’m slowly building a Jordan collection back up, now including these Air Jordan 9 University Gold.
The shoes get their name from the colorway. These totally remind me of a Batman-themed shoe!
These come in a special black, and grey Air Jordan 9 box that mimics the OG box and include black rope laces. Otherwise there are no extras or features with the shoe
A while back I sold off all my 9s so I’m glad to finally get a pair back in the collection. I’m definitely going to be more open minded about future colorways if they have at least this minimum of quality.
How Are The Materials on the Jordan 9 University Gold?
Nike claims these have genuine nubuck, but at the same time there’s a sticker inside the shoe that says the upper contains synthetic materials.
I interpret this as the black part being genuine and the glittery part being synthetic. That aside, the texture on these is pretty soft and the materials actually seem pretty good for a Jordan retro! Overall I think the quality here is on the better side for this type of a release.
How Do The AJ9 University Gold Fit?
The Jordan 9 University Gold fit a tad snug, but not uncomfortable, at true to size. A half size up can help those that want a little more room widthwise.
I do a size 9.5 in most sneakers but got a size 10 and these fit comfortably at that size. The Jordan 9 is a very boot-like shoe, and has that same stiff and sturdy feel to it, although somehow it is still comfortable to wear for at least a few hours.
