The Adidas Yung-1 + a wacky colorway = magic! To that end, these Size? x Adidas Yung-1 Acid House are a collab that instantly caught my eye.
The shoes are based on the smiley face, which in turn represents the acid house scene back in the day (and ultimately throws back to raver culture just a bit). The shoes come with a bunch of pins and some handbills as well as a special box with special paper. There is also a nice graphic on the insoles.
These things are bright and awesome. Even though I liked these right away, I still wasn’t all the way in on them until I saw they were just sitting in my size on the Size? website. I figured if this much time had elapsed and these were still there, I might as well pull the trigger, and I’m glad I did!
What To Sport These With?
These basically have the highlighter pen vibe to them, so a downplayed rest-of-outfit is key. I would opt for black or grey clothes overall with these. I could also see some light wash denim (NO KHAKI THOUGH) and a white top for a bit of a stretch, but ultimately blacks and greys will be the easiest to pull off.
How Are The Materials?
The materials basically are just as good as the Hi-Res Orange pair. The yellow suede is soft and buttery, while the black suede is more of a felt texture. The rest is a mesh with some ballistic nylon type of material on the 3 stripes. Overall I’d give the materials a thumbs up!
How Do They Fit?
The Size? x Adidas Yung-1 Acid House fit pretty big. I went with my true Adidas size and these still feel a tad roomy, although they are very comfortable. These also have a great slope on foot; no need for a reshape with these even with the bulky overall aesthetic.
