2002 Air Jordan VII French Blue Review

Updated March 3, 2017 by Anthony

The 2002 Air Jordan VII French Blue came out at the same time as the Citrus 7s and have since been retro’d once in 2015.

I’m somewhat a fan of VII’s and this pair has always been on the lower end of AJVII retros pricewise, so I copped a DS pair a few years back, enabling me to pass on the more recent retro. These get their name from the colorway and have a fairly simple color scheme throughout (unlike the Sweater 7s I’ve reviewed). The shoes feature metal aglets on the lace tips and come with a retro card in the old Jordan box with the face on top.

Normally I wouldn’t go for a blatant white/blue matchup, but on these it’s such a clean look. Since the blue is minimal on the shoe, today I paired these up with a blue Polo hoodie, medium-light jeans and a white/black Bape tee.

How Are The Materials?

These have a leather upper with a neoprene tongue. The material quality is definitely good on these, although it is really easy to get these permanently dirty. I’ve found myself walking extra carefully in these to avoid an unfortunate mishap. Still, the build quality is great and I’m surprised people have slept on these as much as they have.

How Do They Fit?

I’m not sure how the 2015 retro fits, but these 2002 Air Jordan VII French Blue fit true to size and are really comfortable (if not a bit heavy)! I went half size down due to availability and they still fit ok, snug but not uncomfortable or pinky-crushing. Still, if I had the choice, I probably would have gotten my true size.
