Nike Free Flyknit Chukka Volt Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

I grabbed these Nike Free Flyknit Chukka Volt when Nike was doing 20% off clearance. I had sold my last pair of flyknit chukkas and wanted a new pair.

the free sole isn’t quite as desired by collectors as the lunar sole on these, who cares what collectors think? I think these are dope and the price was right! I also think the little designs going up the back pulltab are a nice touch!

The obvious cool thing about the flyknit chukka with either the free or lunar outsole is the one-piece flyknit upper, which in this case uses volt with fuchsia accents. The quality is pretty good, I’ve rarely gotten a flyknit shoe that seems shoddy in construction.

The Nike Free Flyknit Chukka Volt fits true to size. The non-visible flywire and rope laces help keep these snug on foot. I’m feeling these because of the bright flyknit pattern, the light weight and overall comfort of the shoe. The free sole provides a bit more solid ground feel and less of a “cushy” feel than the lunar flyknit chukkas did, but these are still very comfortable.
