Nike Dunk Low SB Fish Ladder Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

The Nike Dunk Low SB Fish Ladder is a collaboration with skate shop Premier. It’s based off of salmon swimming upstream to mate, which, like learning how to skateboard, requires hard work and is an uphill battle.

The shoes have special materials including scales on the back and swoosh and salmon print on the toebox. They also feature Fish Ladder embroidered graphics and a clear outsole with the salmon print showing through.

I pretty much cop every single Premier collab, so I had to grab these as soon as I could. The materials on these are super nice to look at, although the actual texture quality is more on par with other current general releases. Regardless, the shoe is eye-catching, so although you might not derive that much from touching the materials, you definitely can turn heads in these. The stark black parts of the shoe only add that much more pop to the print/colors on the toebox area.

Comfort-wise, these are pretty much status quo for new SB releases. Because of this, I would highly recommend going true to size or half size up on these. I would definitely avoid going down in size. That said, these are really comfortable, provided you cop the correct size.
