Nike Air Max 1 Leather Dark Ash Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector. Updated: 05-18-2016

These Nike Air Max 1 Leather Dark Ash appear to be a more beefed up version of an Air Max essential.

They get their name from the colorway, which is what made me cop in the first place. The two toned grey with the light blue hits make this a low key shoe that is super unique looking up close.

These definitely seem more beefed up than a regular GR AM1 in that they seem a tad heavier and more padded. They feature that felt suede all over the upper except for some tumbled leather above the toebox and on the side and rear panels. The light grey suede around the mudguard has a subtle pinstripe pattern on it. While the actual material quality isn’t that great, the different textures help make the shoe stand out.

The Nike Air Max 1 Leather Dark Ash fit snug at true to size. However, if you size up, you might wind up with an even stronger banana toe. I suggest going true to size and not actually using these to do much else besides hang out. Definitely do not recommend running or exercise in these.
