Nike Air Command Force Spurs Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

I went HAM on Command Force retros – I figure its best to grab them now, rather that wait another 20+ years for retros. David Robinson helped popularize the shoe in the early 90s – so here we have the Nike Air Command Force Spurs, with colors based off of The Admiral’s team colors.

These are comprised of rubber and suede/nubuck uppers. The material quality on this particular pair is acceptable but nothing special. These ship with black laces.

Additionally, the pump doesn’t really seem to work in these retros. I think the main point of these is not the actual technology, but the look and vintage vibe. Still, if you want a guarantee of a working pump for fit, look elsewhere.

With respect to comfort, these are fairly decent for a retro basketball sneaker from this time. Of course they feel huge on feet, given the extra height and padding used. But that’s part of the charm for these!
