Adidas ZX 500 OG Dussan Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

Here’s another pair that I used to have in a different colorway but sold off. These Adidas ZX 500 OG Dussan are part of an OG line that attempts to retro a trail running model that originally dropped in 1984.

This particular pair gets its name from the colorway.

While these might look great with black pants, the easier route to go is light wash denim. Pair that with either a colorful tee or just a plain white top and you’ve got a decent outfit. The yellow allows you to get a bit wacky on an otherwise rather plain colorway.

I wanted another pair of ZX 500 and I got my wish. I personally think the shape and colorway sell this particular pair. I’m a bit disappointed in the materials, and the model does have its fair share of detractors. If you are “in the know” about the ZX 500, these can be a good look for you, but if you are objectively looking for pointy retro Adidas, there are a lot of other choices out there.

How Are The Materials?

The materials on these are not that great. The suede is rough to the touch and the leather is nothing special. I do appreciate the gum outsole on this particular colorway. If you’re not in love with the look of this shoe and would only be won over by quality materials, these might be a pass for you.

How Do They Fit?

I went with a half size down on these Adidas ZX 500 OG Dussan and these fit comfortably. Although the shape is pointy and awesome, the toebox does not feel crowded at all. That said, if you like more space to spread your toes out, go with your true size instead.
